Explanation

The Sightsee Forest is a lovely forest. Only problem is that it's inhabited with strange creatures known as "the Strange". The group itself is neutral-realmed and is on discord-bases. Members of the group are heavily encouraged to use their imagination when creating OCs, roleplaying, and creating plots, and have a heavy influence on the group, including territory, plots, ranks, groups, etc. and can do anything their heart desires.

Rules

1. Be Active

Being active is essential for this group's and any group's survival. We do not want you to dedicate your whole life to this group, but we'd like you to roleplay twice a week. If you know you're going to be inactive for more than a week, please let us know!

2. Don't Be a Jerk

Please be nice to your fellow groupmates! We understand that we will sometimes get into disagreements, but please try not to let it get out of hand. If drama persists it will be asked to be taken to DMs. If the drama still persists in the server, all people involved will be temporarily muted or kicked from the server (including those who keep feeding the drama).

3. OC design

The Good Ones must fit within realistic cat standards (well, Erin Hunter's version of cat realism), meaning cats must have realistic eye and pelt colors. They cannot have much clothing, only flower crowns and necklaces/collars/any other neckware. The Others are not bound to this expectations and can have any clothing or coloring they want, though take into consideration how these might effect your OC's hunting and stalking skills. No matter, all OCs must have balanced personalities. No Mary Sues allowed! Being overpowered/powerplaying isn't allowed either.

4. Don't be Gross

Please don't RP NSFW or detailed births. That's really gross and will make everyone uncomfortable. Don't post NSFW either. If you do, you will be banned and reported to discord.

5. Dice

During a battle or fight or anything similar please use the dice-roll channel because this adds a level of unexpectedness to the rp. Roll a ten sided dice (1 being a missed move and 10 being a perfect move)

The Strange

In Sightsee Forest, there are strange creatures known simply as "The Strange". Here are the different types.

Sentients

Sentients are the most common. They have equal or higher level of intelligence compared to cats. All of the Strange are sentients, but a majority are just sentients. This includes all species except for cats.

Freeforms

Freeforms are the last and more broad category. They can be anything. They can have powers, mutations, shapeshifting, robot parts, you think of it, you can have it! The only limitation on this is that it cannot be super overpowered. This takes the fun out for everyone, including yourself because nobody will want to roleplay with you.

The Strange

Many years ago there was a great war between humans and humans. To better combat each other, they created creatures. They altered the physical appearance and the mental capabilities of animals using artificial parts or by editing their genetic material. They released them into enemy territory to kill each other.

Three clans used to roam the lands: Budclan, Stormclan, and Brambleclan, until the dreadful day the Strange came.

The Strange were animals, ranging from rabbits to deer, foxes to wolves, creatures that have never been seen before, but they were different from normal non-cat animals. They possessed the same (or higher) level of sentience and intelligence as cats. Some had robot parts or three eyes or other bizarre things. It is unknown how much timed passed, but it soon the Great Massacre happened, which ridded the forest of cats except a few. The nearby twoleg village was also abandoned.

Budclan is the only clan remaining after the Great Massacre. Budclan is made up of cats and only cats. Budclan cats are able to swim in some capacity. They try to keep to the warrior naming system. Cats of Budclan who have displayed enormous loyalty, skill, or had did a heroic task will get a special name: The Star Name. This will put an adjective of their choice in front of their name.

Traditions

Rook Ceremony

The Czar will gather all cats around on dry land. The Czar will sit on a tree branch and call the cat being rook'd forward.

Czar: (name), you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to prove yourself. You will be become a rook and you will be called (name)paw. You shall be taught the ways of the rivers and the forest by (Mentor name).

Czar: (Mentor), you once trained hard and skillfully, and now I hope you pass your (quality) down to (new rook). May Starclan light both of your paths and lead to your success.

The Three Tasks

When a rook reaches a certain skill level or a certain age (13 moons) they will be asked to complete three tasks: bring back a rabbit that's still alive, get the stinger of a bee, and retrieve a rock from the bottom of the pond. Once all of these tasks have been completed, the Commoner ceremony will be held within a few days. This tradition is not held during leafbare due to the lack of bees and the fact the river is usually frozen over. Cats can graduate during leafbare if their team wins Stumble.

Commoner Ceremony

The Czar will gather the close family, friends, and mentor of the rook around the castle.

Czar: (Rook), you have trained hard for many moons. You have shown yourself capable of providing for and protecting your clan. Do you, (rook), promise to uphold the code, protect your clan, and remain loyal to Starclan?

Rook: I do.

Czar: Then, from this day forward, you shall be known as (new name). May Starclan guide your paws.

Knighting Ceremony

Once a cat has shown tremendous bravery and skill, they will often be knighted. All cats able to hunt will be gathered around the meeting branch.

Czar: (Name), you have shown yourself to be a noble cat with great skill and faith. (Name), do you wish to be a knight?

Cat: I do.

Czar: So be it. To prove yourself worthy of knighthood, tell us your favorite rule of the Warrior Code and explain to us what it means.

Cat: names favorite rule with an explanation'.

Czar: Then, as long as you are capable, you shall be a knight. You will fight the worse enemies and protect the weakest members. Welcome to knighthood, (name).

Star Name

Star names are granted to cats who shown skill, bravery, or anything else remarkable. They are also often given to elders. The Czar will go to a remote location with the soon-to-be-named cat.

Czar: (Name), you have shown (1-3 virtues). To reward you for this, you shall earn your Star name. What name to you desire?

(Name): (response)

Heir Ceremony

When a Heir dies or becomes the Czar, this ceremony will be held. All cats are gathered around the meeting branch.

Czar: I say these words before StarClan, that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice. The new deputy of Budclan is (name).

Stumble

Stumble is a game played by rooks during leafbare when the pond is frozen solid. The rooks divide themselves into two teams and train for a while. Stumble is played with a light but good sized rock or a mossball. One team must slide it across the ice into the other team's goal (usually signified with a pile of pine needles) Once one team reaches 15 points, they are declared a winner. The game has gotten so popular among rooks that it used as a rite of passage during leafbare and the winning team will usually be graduated after. Cats are prohibited to slam each other hard onto the ice or unsheathe their claws.

Divies

Divies is a game played usually in warm greenleaf where two teams of cats (usually rooks and younger commoners). The goal is to get as many things (rocks, fish, pine cones, you name it!) out of the water onto land in a matter of minutes. Since this game is not regulated, there are no rules prohibiting unsheathed claws or harsh attacks.

The Raven's Coven is made up of carnivores and omnivores. They are a relatively new group and are unknown by most. They do not have any fixed terminology or naming. There is no fixed religion either but most believe in witchcraft, healing crystals, and bird/plant symbolism. Because of this, they are forbidden to kill crows and ravens.

Sovereign (0/1) Sovran (0/1)

The Sovereign is the leader of the group. They are leaders in battles and have first pick of any prey. They will be required to step down after becoming elderly due to decreased ability to fight and lead.

The Sovran is the second in command. They are tasked with protecting the Sovereign and defending their honor.

Traditions

Gradutation

When a group of bairns graduate, a party is held. The graduates are instructed to catch as much prey as they can before sundown. Once they sun has fallen, they must meet up somewhere (where ever they decide) and can eat all the prey. All unfinished prey must be left out for ravens and crows. They will usually goof off for the rest of the night.

Sovran Ceremony

Under the full moon on a clear night, the new Sovran will be announced. All members will gather around the Sovereign as they speak.

Sovereign: Tonight, underneath the night sky, I shall name the new Sovran. I call upon the (virtue) (name) to step up.

(Name): I accept your offer.

Sovereign: Then, by the divine will of nature, you shall be named the new Sovran.

'Autumn's Feast

When more than half of the tree's leaves fall off the trees, members of the Raven's Coven will celebrate. All hunters will go out and gather lots of prey and scavengers will gather the prettiest leaves and bones they can find.

At sunset they will regather at camp, share their prey, exchange stories, and repeat a prayer ("Mêowle we macian hê âlangian"). At dawn, the scavengers will decorate the camp with leaves and bones.

Spring's Rise

When all the snow melts, members of the Raven's Coven will celebrate, as they consider this their "New Year's". Hunters will catch prey (but not as much as they usually would, as they know if they hunt too much early in the season there will be less prey) and everyone will gather items they think are special. One piece of prey is usually caught specifically for crows and ravens.

Members will celebrate at moonhigh, sharing stories and what they think the new season will bring. If anyone died during the winter, they will take a moment to commemorate them. Finally, to end the night, they will swap gifts.

Groupless are those who live outside of "society". They usually will live in small groups or by themselves. They can be any creature.

Nomad (0/infinite) Outsider (0/infinite)

Nomads are those who do not have a specified place to live and they travel the territories. They usually travel in small groups.

Outsiders are those who do have a home. They may or may not live with others.
