After many moons of harsh travel across untamed wilderness, you have found yourself within a beautiful and sprawling valley. As you gaze over the thick pine forests and lush meadows, you decide that this is the perfect place to stop and rest. You quickly find, however, that this valley is occupied. You have stumbled onto LarkClan’s territory. These cats appear strange to you, their secluded life makes them close-knit and wary of strangers. They regard you with caution, but not aggression. It is clear they do not appreciate you presence in their territory. You are surprised to hear you have been given a choice: leave, or take up rank within LarkClan. Age Limit: The age limit for this server is 18+ to ensure a safe and mature environment. If you do not meet this age requirement, you are not permitted to join. If you join and are discovered to be lying about your age, you will immediately be banned and will not be allowed to rejoin, no exceptions. Respect and Kindness: Show respect toward your fellow roleplayers! There will be no bullying or harassment of any kind. Racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, etc will not be tolerated and will result in an immediate ban. Keep Topics Appropriate: NSFW is strictly prohibited. This includes gore, sexual content, inappropriate nicknames/profile pictures, etc. If you ever have an issue with another member, please reach out to anyone on the staff team privately. Roleplay: Please keep your roleplay in 3rd person to avoid confusion! During Discord roleplay, please write at least one paragraph (4-5 sentences) when responding to someone. Powerplay: Any sort of "powerplaying" will not be tolerated. Character Limitations: We ask that any sort of physical or mental disabilities be discussed with staff before they are given to a character. This doesn't mean that they aren't allowed, but we want to ensure that they will be portrayed appropriately. Naming: Naming isn't strict, but should to follow the traditional naming system (Prefix + Suffix). Rogue names are not allowed. Injuries: Speak with a staff member and medicine cat/s before inflicting a major injury on your character. This allows us time to plan the event out. You don't have to ask permission to give your character a smaller injury. Realism: Warrior Cat roleplay obviously has some fantastical elements, but some degree of realism is expected in roleplay! This includes not giving your character magic abilities, unrealistic pelts, neon eye colors, making them overpowered, etc. Roleplay Location: LarkClan is located in the Northern range of Yellowstone National Park. Please take into consideration the territory location when roleplaying! (For example, you wouldn't see a dog or horse in Yellowstone). larkclan's founding

After four long moons of traveling, a band of homeless clan cats find themselves in a stunning valley, overflowing with thick pine forests, sprawling plains, and plentiful prey. The decision to settle here is an easy one. They begin the hunt for a place to set up a proper camp and territory. Despite its beauty, it does not take long for the clan cats to find that this new territory will not be without dangers. The newly formed clan must learn how to outsmart predators, survive unpredictable weather, and become skilled at hunting new types of prey. They will have to come together, more than ever before, to learn how to adapt and survive in their new home.

Weeks pass without no sign or message from StarClan. The former clan cats grow convinced that they have traveled out of reach of their ancestors watchful gaze, or worse, they have abandoned them all together. Just when all hope seemed lost, Snowstep, a skilled medicine cat, received a vision. Late one foggy night, the spirits of StarClan warriors surrounded the valley, echoing these words;

“A lark's feather will emerge and fall upon the valley. The bird's song will bring guidance and light to your newfound clan.”

Despite StarClan's blessing, fear still grips the clan. They have no leader, no deputy. How will they survive with no one to lead them?

Not long after, a heavy storm crashed down onto the young clan, damaging to their makeshift camp and washing away their prey. Once again, they are lost and alone, wondering if their ancestors had deserted them after all. It seemed as though they hadn’t belonged anywhere. However, one cat wouldn’t stand for this. Breezefeather, a respected huntress, was determined to find a proper sanctuary for her clanmates, no matter what it took. Though the rain, she guided the cats onward to find a proper home, once and for all.

After successfully lead the cats to safety, a feather tumbled from the sky as a lark soared over the group of cats. Swooping down, it circled Breezefeather while singing a short melody, before taking off back into the sky. Snowstep finally deciphered StarClan’s message; they were to be known as LarkClan, and Breezestar would be the one to lead them to prosperity.

LarkClan follows the traditional warrior code, with some variations.

1. Defend your Clan, even with your life.

2. Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.

3. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.

4. No LarkClan cat will harm or kill a lark, as they are sacred.

5. Be kind to the other animals we share this land with, as they are only trying to survive. Do not attack another creature without reason.

6. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.

7. A young warrior must be at least twenty moons old to join a sub-rank

8. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.

9. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.

10. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.

11. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.

12. No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, whether rogue, loner, or kittypet.

13. The word of the Clan leader is law.

14. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense.

15. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.

the spring flood

Spring has officially taken hold of the valley. The days grow warmer, wildflowers are starting to bloom, and there's an abundance of prey. As far as LarkClan is concerned, their newly claimed territory is perfect. The clan is unaware of the dangers that constantly surround them, even in the peaceful spring months. During a cloudy afternoon, a patrol stops along the creek to take a quick rest. A steady drizzle begins, prompting the cats to wrap up their patrol and head back to camp. Before they know it, a heavy downpour has begun, causing a major flash flood throughout the meadow.

winter ruination

As the wind grows colder and leaves drift down in a fiery cascade of auburn and gold, the forest where LarkClan dwells is cloaked in the colder seasons vivid embrace. This transformation is not only apparent to the cats who traverse these ancient woods but is felt by every creature across the sprawling wilderness. Cats begin to receive strange, ominous visions. Dreams are filled with dread and danger, accompanied by a chorus of terrified, shrieking cats. What could these visions ensue? Will LarkClan be able to endure the fore-coming events that the winter brings them?

new discoveries

As Newleaf approaches, LarkClan gives a warm welcome to the return of vegetation and prey. However, the native animals of Yellowstone aren't the only ones to share the area. A surprise discovery of peculiar creatures leave the cats frightened; yet strangely, are familiar to some. Additionally, LarkClan will learn of new areas on their territory they hadn't discovered before and the cats must learn how to deal with the dangers that the territories bring along with it.

Q: Is LarkClan a main or side group?

A: Neither! We just ask that you are active within the group.

Q: What is the roleplay schedule? Where does roleplay occur?

A: We do our best to host official sessions a couple times a week, either on Animal Jam Classic, Warrior Cats: Ultimate Edition, or Discord. Casual Discord roleplay is always open! There isn’t a set roleplay schedule. Instead, a poll will be posted on the server a day in advance to see what time works best for everyone!

Q: Do I have to have a Roblox and/or Animal Jam account?

A: No, Discord is technically the only required platform. However, be aware that important rolelplay sessions will often take place on these other platforms.

Q: Can visitors roleplay?

A: Of course! In order to roleplay as a visitor you will need to submit a plot suggestion within the Discord server. If you wish to temporarily roleplay as a visitor, you must introduce your OC in a way that makes sense in-roleplay. More information is available on our server.

Q: What are Lark Pebbles?

A: Pebbles refer to our in-server currency. Gaining pebbles is easy, all you have to do is be an active member! Pebbles can be used to purchase things like 4th and 5th OC slots. More items will eventually be made available.

Q: How do I get a pixel for my OC?

A: Pixels are colored by the pixel crew. They are done whenever it is most convenient, so please be patient! If you want your pixel colored quickly, you are more than welcome to do it yourself!

The Council is made up of the leader's most trusted cats. These warriors have proven themselves capable of assisting in leading the clan and making important decisions. One might earn this position in many ways, such as experience, intelligence, or strength. Each cat on the Council has a variety of skills and abilities that they will use to benefit the clan as a whole. When a new deputy must be appointed, the candidate will come from one of the Council members.

Warriors comprise the majority of the clan, proficient in combat and hunting skills. They shoulder many responsibilities, safeguarding the clan and ensuring its sustenance through their prowess in battle and provision of resources. At the age of twenty moons, after a young warrior gains enough experience, they are given the honor to choice a subrank: hunter, fisher, guard, gatherer or tunneler. By using their unique individual skills and talents, each subrank works close together to ensure the safety and success of the clan. ▼ Scroll for information about sub-ranks ▼ hunters Focuses on feeding the clan! It’s a hunter’s job to keep a close eye on the clan’s prey stores, as well as prey availability throughout the territory. They always know when and where the best hunting spots are. Hunters also work closely together to develop new hunting techniques. Some might prefer to hunt alone, while others enjoy cooperative hunting. Individually, hunters might choose to specialize in hunting in different locations, and different types of prey. Perhaps they enjoy hunting amongst the trees, focusing on forest-dwelling prey. These individuals are stealthy and quiet, typically ambushing their prey in the undergrowth, or they might be great climbers, easily snagging songbirds from the trees. Other Hunters might be swift sprinters, preferring to chase down rabbits on the meadow. fishers These cats specifically focus on all things swimming and fishing. Fishers are generally muscular and well-built, able to swim against strong currents. These cats are quick and light on their paws, with extensive knowledge on anything involving the water. In winter, fish becomes one of the only reliable sources of food. Ice fishing is an important skill that all Fishers must master. After the flood incident, they also keep an eye on the creek’s water levels during the spring. They’ve become proficient at predicting when the creek beds might flood, giving them a good understanding of weather patterns. guards Guards devote all their time to the safety and well-being of the clan. They’re most commonly the ones leading border patrols. It is their duty to ensure that LarkClan’s borders remain strong. They are keen on anything and everything occurring on the clan’s territory, always working closely with the Council to keep them informed. Guards are also knowledgeable about various wildlife that might be nearby. They keep track of the movements of local elk herds, coyote packs, etc. to avoid any unwanted conflicts. Guards will commonly be strong, well-built cats who aren’t afraid to leap into danger. They are loyal and brave, preferring to take immediate action when it comes to the clan's safety. On top of being physically strong, these cats are clever strategists, often coming up with creative solutions to protect their clanmates. gatherers The role of the Gatherer may be suited to the more tender-hearted feline, yet it remains indispensable to the clan's welfare. A Gatherer dedicates their days to procuring a diverse array of vital resources beyond mere sustenance. They maintain close communication with the clan’s medicine cats, ensuring that the herbal reserves are perpetually replenished and abundant. Additionally, they gather warm mosses and leaves to construct cozy nests, as well as brambles and antler sheds to fortify the dens, along with any other materials that contribute to the overall comfort of the camp. Gatherers possess a creative disposition and an astute eye for innovative methods to assist their fellow clanmates. tunnelers Tunneling is a distinctive skill that some consider to be reckless and unnecessarily dangerous. Utilizing abandoned fox and gopher burrows, these cats don't mind getting their paws dirty by delving deep beneath the earth, crafting and memorizing intricate tunnel systems that serve numerous functions. Tunnelers are expected to be comfortable being engulfed by complete darkness while working in irrefutably confined environments. They typically cut a lithe figure; as being on the smaller-scale allows them to easily navigate tight spaces. Strategically positioned throughout the territory, LarkClan’s tunnels function as both resource storage and potential sanctuaries. While Guards assume a more proactive stance in safeguarding the clan, Tunnelers embody a more contemplative approach, readily anticipating potential threats and remaining one step ahead of adversity.

An apprentice is a young cat who is training to become a warrior, under the watchful eye of their mentor. Once they reach the milestone of six moons a kit will be given the suffix "-paw," representing them following in the paw steps of their warrior ancestors. When their mentor deems them ready, each apprentice will take a final assessment, and will be evaluated by at least three high ranking warriors. An apprentice must successfully complete the final assessment before they can earn their warrior name.
