AMATERASU

(KANNUSHI)

We will provide a medic guide in addition to a training guide.

HERBS AND EXORCISMS                                                                         HERB GUIDE: [tbd] EXORCISMS: Having the ability to exorcise a demon is incredibly special. It takes a lot of time to learn, and a lot of energy to use. Medics are the only members in Amaterasu who are able to perform such a task. Influenced from shintoism, exorcisms will be carried out through the use of gohei and rehearsal of a sutra. Note: exorcism is only an option for newly turned oni.

(TRAINING)

Training will be split into three parts: beginning, middle way, and conclusion. Kannushi genin must have participated in at least five training sessions with their sensei in roleplay.

PART 1: BEGINNING                                                                             TERRITORY: This is the first lesson every genin will have. Genin will tour Amaterasu's territory with their assigned sensei and go over the pros and cons of each section. Additionally they will go over how to pick up scents and identify basic herbs. HUNTING: After learning how to identify prey scents, genin will learn how to hunt them down. Despite their specialty being herbs, every canine must know the basic skill of hunting and being able to provide food for themselves. ONI DISCUSSION: Every genin must learn about oni and their classifications. Sensei must also include the Oni weakness (Illaware flame flowers). This discussion will take place once more in "Conclusion". COMMUNITY WORK: Every genin must do some type of work within camp. This can include cleaning minkas, tidying the clearing (removing sticks, leaves, etc), and organizing the garden. Before they can move onto the next lesson they must complete the following: VERBAL: What is this herb and what's its purpose? (x3) What herb do you use to tend to an open wound? What flower are Oni scared of? ACT: Bring back three prey items. Bring back an herb used to tend to burns.

PART 2: MIDDLE WAY                                                                           NOTE: Although they won't be on the same level as regular genin, medic genin will know the basics of each of the following: DEFENSE: Knowing how to defend yourself is extremely important in the world of Amaterasu. Sensei will teach their genin basic defensive moves. SWIMMING: Learning how to swim will be important, in the case of a flood or water ambush. This activity will be taught in Koi Lake. WEAPONRY: Genin will learn the basics of weapon-wielding. They will begin with a practice weapon made from wood and once they get the hang of it they will move onto real weapons. ARMOR EQUIP: Genin will learn how to quickly put on armor and attach a weapon to it: paws in first, then slip your head through the opening and adjust to your liking, is the simplest way Before their graduation they must complete the following: VERBAL: 3 herb related questions. ACT: Successfully defend against their sensei. Successfully swim across Koi Lake with armor. Successfully damage a dummy with a weapon.

PART 3: CONCLUSION                                                                           NOTE: The majority of the conclusion will be learning how to exorcise an oni. GOHEI: Genin will learn how to incorporate the gohei during exorcisms. Note that the stick holding the the cloth is made from illawara wood. Additionally, genin will understand which way to circle their target (which is always to the right). SUTRA: Medic genin will memorize the sutra: "We take refuge in our Mother Amaterasu" This will be said at the end of the exorcism. PAW PLACEMENT: In addition to the sutra, genin will learn the manner in which it will be rehearsed: Two paws together with an omamori (Japanese amulet) between them. ONI DISCUSSION: Once again, genin will go over the topic of oni classifications and oni weaknesses (Illaware flame flowers). KAGURA DANCE: This is a traditional dance learned by the medics of Amaterasu. It will be performed during the Kami Festival, in which the members of Amaterasu show their gratitude for the gods. Before their graduation they must complete the following: VERBAL: Rehearse the sutra. Which way will you circle your target during exorcism? 5 herb related questions. ACT: Perform the Kagura dance. Demonstrate paw placement during an exorcism. Demonstrate the use of the gohei.

Kannushi genin will have one final task after their training is complete. They will be tasked with exorcising a creature. Their sensei will accompany them, but they may not assist. If they successfully exorcise the demon, they will return to camp where they will be welcomed and congratulated before their ceremony takes place.
